We clean all styles of rugs – from Afghan & Indians to Silk & Turkish using over 40 years expertise in Area Rug cleaning. There is no comparison to our award-winning thorough-immersion process used to remove deeply embedded oils & abrasives.  Our process is unique to the city of Ottawa and pays careful attention to the fringe, dyes, age & construction resulting in a beautifully cleaned rug every time.

We start by testing the structural integrity of the fibres and the stability of the dyes.  We follow this by agitating the rug to loosen the majority of the dry dust & debris within your carpet. 

Over 75% of the contaminants within carpet can be removed before a single drop of water is applied.

The rug is then submerged in a shallow pool of water where it bathes in our cleaning solution designed specifically for natural fibres.  Wool, Cotton and Silk are safely cleaned using this cleanser with specific attention paid to the pH of the cleanser.

Water alone does not lift the embedded oils from cooking vapours, smoking, general foot traffic and other sources.  The cleanser helps suspend these oils with the embedded dirt.

A mechanically driven horse-hair brush is used to gently massage the cleanser on the rug.  This is superior to hand-cleaning in many ways, allowing the solution better access to the base of the fibre where oily residues and bonded dirt can cause abrasive wear if left unchecked.  There is also no fatigue to the cleaner, so it is a consistent wash throughout.  You can imagine cleaning an 80 square-foot carpet by hand.  It is impossible to ensure that the entire rug has received the same consistent, thoroughness.

The rug continues its journey onto our wash table.  This table includes a conveyor belt with twin jets of water angled at the carpet.  It is designed to rinse the suspended oils and soiling and press out the excess moisture from the rug.

By the end of this process, the rug goes from thoroughly soaked to damp as it is pressed between our hydraulic rollers.

After, the excess water is pressed out the rug is throughly groomed.  This realligns all of the fibres, eases drying and enhances the overall appearance.  It is then suspended in our 2 story, temperature & humidity controlled drying room.

Drying the carpet typically requires less than 6 hours.  This method of drying will eliminate the risk of warped rugs or fugitive dyes.

Once dried, any speciality spot cleaning required (coffee, red wine, rust, etc) is performed after.  The rug is, once again, thoroughly groomed & rehung.  As a final step, the fringes are cleaned by hand, removing existing oils & dirt.

After a thorough drying, it is rolled and set to be picked-up or delivered.  No other system in Ottawa cleans fine, delicate rugs as thoroughly and effectively as ours.
